Dan DeChellis / e. piano

Brian Moran / electronics

Matt Hannafin / percussion

Combining avant-classical compositional techniques and sonorities with postmodern circuit-bent electronics and percussion concepts adapted from Iranian, Asian, and Western classical and industrial musics, the improvisation group Chainworks is the sound of chaos and control, of naturally ordered sonic landscapes and meticulous spontaneous composition. Heir as much to the New York noise school as to Anton Webern, David Tudor, and John Cage, it's energy music with a heart of silence.

NEWS: Chainworks releases debut CD "Red Rooms" on Sachimay Records and a limited edition EP, "Twenty Minutes in Brooklyn, 5-4-2003" recorded this past spring at the Improvised & Otherwise Festival in NYC.
